Does Caitlyn Jenner want to become a Scientologist?
Jenner made a surprise visit to the headquarters of the Church of Scientology this past weekend, sparking rumors that she is ready to become a member of the controversial church.
According to Radar Online , Jenner is not planning on becoming a member of the Church of Scientology any time soon. Instead, the reality star visited the church on behalf of her friend, Kate Bornstein.
Bornstein, who also stars on I Am Cait , has not been in contact with her daughter, Jessica Baxter, since she left the organization back in the ’80s.
After Jenner learned that Bernstein’s daughter was at the Church of Scientology headquarters in L.A., she decided to make a surprise visit. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned.
Shortly after they walked into the headquarters, Jenner and Bornstein demanded to talk with Bornstein’s daughter.
“I don’t doubt that phone calls were going all over the place and David Miscavige was immediately notified,” a Scientology blogger told the outlet. “Jenner walked into the front lobby of Scientology’s Org and no one recognized her! Kate said that that really confused her — she’s not used to that.”
Bornstein has long been a critic of Scientology. She did, however, admit that the organization has interesting theories that draw people in.
Bornstein eventually left the church, though her exit severed her family ties.
“I still use Scientology as a guiding light for how NOT to live my life,” she shared. “Scientology splits up families, and that’s what happened to us … I have not been able to talk with my daughter for some 30 years now.”
Considering the circumstances, there is little wonder why Caitlyn Jenner jumped at the opportunity to help her friend. Sadly, the two were unable to visit Bornstein’s daughter.
Meanwhile, OK! Magazine is reporting that Jenner has enough drama of her own to worry about. In her latest round of controversies, Jenner wants her son, Brody, to invite the Kardashians to his upcoming wedding to Kaitlynn Carter.
“Caitlyn said it was unfair to exclude Kris and the girls and that it would be bad publicity for the family,” a source explained. “And she threatened not to attend her own son’s wedding.”
Brody was not invited to Kanye West’s wedding to Kim Kardashian.
At the same time, Jenner might be struggling with her decision to become a woman. According to the Christian Examiner , Jenner’s life has been difficult ever since her public transformation.
“It hasn’t been easy for Caitlyn. It’s been very hard,” Ian Halperin, a celebrity biographer, noted. “She’s thrilled she has raised awareness about how transgender people have long been discriminated against, but I think there’s a chance she’ll de-transition in the next couple years. I don’t think it would surprise anybody in her inner circle. It has been much harder than she anticipated. My heart goes out to her and I know her true friends will be there to support her on whatever path she chooses.”
Of course, Jenner and her reps have denied the reports of her second guessing her gender transition.
While it isn’t clear if Jenner is struggling with her transgender status, OK! Magazine revealed that things got a little awkward in the latest episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians .
Fans watched as Kourtney Kardashian’s daughter, Penelope Disick, called Jenner her grandma.
“We were reading a bible book, and the angel in the book was this person with long hair and a white long dress,” Kourtney explained. “Penelope was like, ‘That looks like my grandma.’ ”
It isn’t clear how Penelope’s other grandma, Kris Jenner, will feel about the situation. Considering how the two have competed for the spotlight in the past, things aren’t going to turn out well.
