Give a brother a break–so says Virgin Mobile: Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt has a younger sibling who now has a celebrity endorsement he can call his own.
In contrast to Brad, Doug Pitt–the so-called second most famous Pitt in the family–appears in a new commercial for Virgin Mobile Australia that good-naturedly spoofs his middle class, non-jet-set lifestyle.
The commercial voiceover tells viewers that “While his brother lives the life of a Hollywood A-lister, Doug’s life is a little different.”
As London’s Daily Mail notes, “In the video made for Australia by ad firm Euro RSCG, Doug plays a tongue-in-cheek ordinary Jo who just wants to be given his own time in the spotlight.”
Doug Pitt claims that he is constantly mistaken for his older brother.
A father of three, Doug lives in Springfield, Missouri, where he owns the ServiceWorld Computer Center. He also runs a real estate company and is active in the local chamber of commerce
The commercial doesn’t specifically promote Virgin Mobile products. Instead it asks consumers to go to a website and meet Doug:
Doug’s just a regular guy.
He washes his own car, pays his own bills, and does his own laundry. You see, unlike his famous bro, Doug’s never been the star of anything.
As believers in ‘a fair go for all’, Virgin Mobile have decided to make things a little fairer in the Pitt family. Help a bro out and show Doug Pitt some ‘Like’!
