Blake Shelton is allegedly asking girlfriend Gwen Stefani to cut down on posting about their relationship on social media.
According to a new report by In Touch Weekly , Blake reportedly asked Stefani to stop posting so many photos of the two together on social media for fears that her constants Instagram selfies could be “cheapening” their relationship.
An insider close to Blake and Gwen, who went public with their romance back in November, claimed that Shelton confronted Stefani about her tendency to post loving shots of the two on Instagram and reportedly asked Stefani to keep the social media sharing to a minimum.
“He’s asked Gwen to stop posting so many selfies of them,” an insider close to Shelton claimed to the site earlier this week, alleging that Blake is worried that Gwen putting their relationship on the photo sharing site could “turn off fans” or even “cheapen their very real romance.”
The Blake insider also confessed to the site that, amid the intense media scrutiny surrounding their six-month romance, Shelton is actually now looking to keep his and Stefani’s relationship a little more out of the spotlight.
“He just wants to keep their special moments private,” In Touch Weekly ‘s inside source admitted of Shelton, confessing that this is actually the first time Blake and Gwen have disagreed about something.
“Blake knows that the public needs to be a part of their love story,” the source continued, “but he just doesn’t want to constantly share all these pictures of them kissing or hanging out backstage.”
Reports claiming that Blake Shelton would like a little more privacy when it comes to his romance with Gwen Stefani come shortly after Blake admitted in an interview with Country Countdown USA that he would have liked to have kept their relationship completely out of the public eye if he could.
“If I could have kept my personal life private, I would have,” Blake told the radio show last month. “But what I found out, because it wasn’t someone from my hometown, it was Gwen Stefani that I was beginning to have this relationship with,” Shelton said. “There was no hiding it. If I glance her way, it’s the cover of magazines.”
“At the time, when you go through what I went through with my divorce, you never know when it’s the right time to step out and say I’ve started seeing someone,” Shelton continued, referring to his 2015 split from Miranda Lambert.
But as for why Gwen has been posting so many loved-up selfies of herself and Shelton on social media, including three while the two were backstage at the Billboard Music Awards on May 22, In Touch Weekly ‘s insider admitted that Stefani’s reported recent sit down with her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, may have something to do with her tendency to flaunt her and Blake’s love.
According to the source who spoke out this week, Stefani alleged “feels more secure” when she’s showing off her and Shelton’s love to the world, amid rumors claiming that she and Rossdale split because of his wandering eye .
Us Weekly alleged last week that Gwen recently met up with her former husband to discuss her current relationship with Shelton, where things reportedly got “emotional” between the former couple.
“Gwen had a meeting with Gavin to discuss her relationship with Blake and how it will affect the children going forward,” a source told Us Weekly , admitting that “[Gavin] wants to be consulted on everything concerning the kids and the role that Blake is playing in their lives.”
The insider also told the site that despite Blake playing such a big part in the lives of Stefani’s three sons, he actually “has nothing to do” with Gavin.
“[Blake] has nothing to do with Gavin,” Us Weekly revealed. “He can’t forgive someone who treated his lady that way.”
