Blake Shelton just sung his way to the top of the charts. Both the country crooner’s single, “Came Here to Forget,” and album, If I’m Honest, soared to No. 1, according to Taste Of Country.

If I’m Honest marks his third album in a row to achieve the top place on the Billboard Country Albums chart. His single is his 17th consecutive No. 1 single. Blake marveled at his achievement and expressed his appreciation to fans.

“At almost 40 years old and 15 years in this business, who would’ve ever thought I would have the biggest week of my career now. Number one album, number one song and number one movie. I am beside myself my friends. Thank you for an incredible journey.”

During its opening week, If I’m Honest sold 153,000 units, making it the greatest seller in the country debut album category since last October. In terms of Shelton’s career, the album ranks as his second-biggest-selling debut week.

Included on If I’m Honest are two collaborations. “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” is performed with his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, while “Doing It to Country Songs” is a joint effort with the Oak Ridge Boys. And in a surprise announcement, Blake confessed that one of the songs, “Every Time I Hear That Song,” was influenced by his bromance buddy on The Voice, Adam Levine.

“It’s not like anything else I’ve ever recorded before and I’ll be totally honest — as hard as it is for me to say this — it’s got a little Adam Levine influence in it,” joked the country music superstar.

“It’s hard to admit. I hope he doesn’t read this because he’d be like, ‘Hahahahahahaha! I’m your hero!’ “

Aside from teasing the Levine connection, The Voice coach admitted that the melody does remind him of Adam.

“Melodically it kind of reminds me of something he would do. It’s obviously country, but when people hear the song, they’ll understand what I’m talking about if they’re familiar with his music,” he clarified.

While Blake is soaring in his music, he recently confessed that he suffered during and after his divorce from Miranda Lambert. And at one point, The Voice coach struggled to stay positive, he told People.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert pose before their split.
“This time last year, there was no light at the end of the tunnel for me personally,” he admitted in describing his heartbreak after splitting from Miranda. “There was a point there where I thought I didn’t even want to exist anymore.”

With Lambert for 10 years and married for four years, he joined her in keeping his statement about their split short.

“This is not the future we envisioned,” they said last July.

Only now is Shelton speaking out about the dark days following his divorce from Miranda.

“I told people I wished I could go into a coma and wake up a year from now.”

But there was a light at the end of that tunnel, even though the 39-year-old singer couldn’t see it at the time. He began a friendship with Gwen after her own split from Gavin Rossdale, and in November their relationship shifted from platonic to passionate.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani went from a platonic friendship to a passionate relationship.
“Here we are a year from now, and [look at] the way things have turned out and how crazy life is sometimes,” he reflected. “You never know who’s in your life that can save your life, and I found that out.”

As to the specific details of what caused Shelton to split from Lambert? A source told Page Six that even though the former couple issued a joint statement, they disagreed on the timeline for having children.

“He is eager to have children, but she really enjoys not being tied down… They both were off on what the time frame would be.”

In addition to their disagreement about whether to have children, rumors that Shelton was cheating on Miranda constantly swirled. However, they both mocked those reports.

Can Gwen Stefani fulfill Blake Shelton’s dream of having children?
“I just read in a tabloid that our marriage is falling apart!!!” he tweeted at one point.

“Oh no! Can’t wait to read if we make it or not,” retorted Lambert.

However, they were serious in their comments about their divorce.

“… It is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues.”

A big factor in the divorce was his longing to be together and have a family, while Lambert loved her freedom, added the insider.

Adding credibility to the report that it was his dream of having children that caused his split from Miranda, a source close to Shelton told Us Weekly that one reason he’s attracted to Stefani is the fact that she has three sons, thereby fulfilling his dream of having a family that he could not achieve with Lambert.

“With Gwen, Blake has the family life he’d hoped to have with Miranda. Her kids love him as much as she does.”

As for adding to that family? She’s up for the challenge.

“Blake wants kids of his own,” added the source. “And Gwen is willing to try!”
