The line-up for the 2012 Portland Jazz Festival has been announced, and Seattle jazz guitarist Bill Frisell leads the bill. Frisell will perform in four settings over two nights on the festival’s second weekend.

Other headliners at the festival include Branford Marsalis and pianist Joey Calderazzo, playing songs from their June 2011 album “Mirth and Melancholy,” singer Dee Dee Bridgewater (who will play a series of Billie Holiday songs), and drummer and NEA Jazz Master Roy Haynes. Sadly, there’s no Spirit of Jazz.

This year’s festival doesn’t use a theme, with managing director Don Lucoff admitting, “It is breaking a little from tradition.” Here’s the complete schedule:

The show is set to run from February 17th – 26th, 2012. Tickets go on sale to the general public October 10th, but PDX Jazz members will have access to presale tickets on October 9.
