Big Brother is reportedly adding its first transgender guest to the U.S. cast.
TMZ reports that the long-running reality television series added Audrey Middleton – a former Georgia resident – to the cast of its upcoming season.

Middleton was apparently excited to join the cast of Big Brother since she is a longtime fan of the reality TV series. However, she was also inspired by the recent transition and overall journey of another transgender celebrity Caitlyn Jenner.
TMZ reports that Audrey actually plans to use her appearances on Big Brother as a showcase to introduce herself to the rest of the world. According to the report, Audrey Middleton was born “Adam.”
When she decided to transition from Adam to Audrey several years ago, the report claims that her family did not take the news very well. Even though they initially found it difficult to accept their son’s transition into a woman, TMZ reports that “they’re now fully supportive and on board.”
During an interview to promote the upcoming Big Brother season, Audrey had the chance to open up about what she is bringing to the table as well as her overall approach to the competition.
“I think that I’m bringing in a very versatile perspective of a character that hasn’t been brought before… Nobody’s off-limits. I’m gonna do whatever I have to do. I kinda said that I wanna play it kind of like Dexter Morgan would, you know? On the outside, he’s calm – total sociopath on the inside. I’m not a sociopath, but I’m not a wallflower by any means.”
Dexter Morgan was the titular character and anti-hero of the popular Showtime television series starring Michael C. Hall.

The 17th season of Big Brother is currently scheduled to premiere later this month. Just like with previous seasons, the launch will take place over two nights – June 24 and 25 – on CBS. The season will continue until its 90 minute finale airs on September 23.
