By now, you either have seen Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice yourself or at least heard plenty about it. The film has been negatively destroyed by critics, but it is still tearing up the box office and doing more than enough to merit future films. Still, the reviews may be having an effect on DC Entertainment and serious changes may be called for in Justice League including the villain Darkseid and fans wanting Zack Snyder removed as director.
Please note that there will be spoilers for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice from this point on. If you don’t want to know anything about the movie and what happens, then stop reading now.
Justice League: Part 1 is scheduled to come out in November of 2017, and there is one main thing missing from it — the villain. Yes, everyone thinks that Darkseid is going to be arriving in the film, and it is extremely possible as Batman v Superman hinted at it in big ways.
The problem is that no one has yet been cast as Darkseid, and by now, you would think that DC Entertainment wants to have the major antagonist in place.
Cinema Blendis reporting that Warner Bros. could be making director Zack Snydermake some changes to the film due to the bad reviews. The overall idea of the film is the same, but rumor has it that some specifics need to be changed and altered, and that includes Darkseid.
In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice , there were so many hints at Darkseid that it wasn’t even subtle anymore. If he weren’t to show up soon, then fans would wonder why because the groundwork has already been laid for him to appear.
Warner Bros. could look at taking Darkseid out of Justice League Part 1 and saving him for Justice League Part 2 which is set to be released in 2019. If this is indeed the case, then there is no need for them to rush to a casting decision on Darkseid.
If this is the plan that Warner Bros. goes with, then they need to make that decision now. Principal photography and shooting is set to begin very soon on Justice League , and things need to be set for director Zack Snyder.
That being said, Snyder brings about another problem.
Fans are not happy with Zack Snyder and they want him out of the director’s chair. Not only are they just saying it, but they are also now doing something about it as petitions are starting to get him ousted from having anything to do with Justice League.
A petition based in the United States has been started and it calls to have a different director on Justice League , and Zack Snyder removed. It is just 1,500 signatures away from its goal of 10,000, and there are plans to send it to Warner Bros. once it reaches that plateau.
The second petition is based in India and is looking to receive just 1,500 signatures and only around 100 more are needed. It calls for Snyder to not only be removed from Justice League , but also taken away from the DC Entertainment Universe entirely.
While the critics have torn Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justiceto shreds, there is no denying that the film has been successful. In less than a week, it has crossed $500 millionat the worldwide box office and it doesn’t look like it is going to slow down anytime soon.
Even if the two petitions, and any others, gather countless signatures, it’s going to be hard to convince Warner Bros. to remove Zack Snyder from Justice League . He’s making them money, a lot of money, and no company will give that up.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is far from a failure even if the critics didn’t like it. Zack Snyder made the film that he wanted to make, and it is earning a lot of money. Justice League is bound to do the same, but there could at least be a change or two regarding the plot and Darkseid , and time will tell if those rumors prove to be true.
