Police arrested a 25-year-old Arizona mom who had passed out after drinking while her toddler was strapped to a car seat. The home was filled with smoke from a burned pizza in a microwave.
The toddler was barely conscious when the Greendale police officers found the car seat in the living room. The bodycam footage from the incident showed police rushing inside and finding the mother unconscious on the floor. Identified as Kallien Mia Heathman, she regained consciousness when police officers tried to lift her from the floor; however, she was speaking gibberish and became uncooperative.

A 7-year-old child was inside the house and had called their father, informing him about the emergency at home. She was reported on 911 by the father of the kids; her ex and police reached the residence near 67th Avenue and Cholla Street around 11 p.m. The father, who shares custody of the kids, can also be heard in the bodycam footage.
After the investigation, the authorities discovered empty alcoholic beverage containers and liquor bottles in the house. Heathman’s blood-alcohol concentration was found to be 0.379. This is five times the legal driving limit in Arizona. While she was not driving, her child was strapped in a car seat.
It’s unclear how long the mother had been unconscious and inhaling the smoke inside the house. After her arrest, Heathman refused to give a statement to the investigators. She is currently in the Maricopa County Jail and is being held on a cash bond of $10,000.
According to Law&Crime, her preliminary hearing will be scheduled later in August. Meanwhile, the judge has ordered her not to reside with the alleged victims till the case is pending.

Where?” as the smoke isn’t that visible in the bodycam video.
One user came to defend the mom, “The mother strapped the baby in the car seat for safety. That actually indicates to me she was being responsible. When my children were babies, I would strap them in the car seat or the bouncer when I was doing things around the house or when I was tired and may fall asleep so they wouldn’t roll off the couch or bed.”
One more commented, “And our administration wants to push women to keep having kids. Some people are not meant to be parents.” “That’s one way to lose custody of your child.”
