Ariana Grande is responding to what reports are claiming was a serious diss from Big Sean in his new track with Kanye West, which also features 2 Chainz, Migos’ Quavo, Travis Scott, Desiigner, Yo Gotti, and Gucci Mane, titled “Cruel Winter.”
According to Hollywood Life, Ariana is allegedly hitting back at her former boyfriend and admitting that she thinks the rapper is “lame” for appearing to bring up their past relationship, which ended in 2015.
“Ariana thinks it’s so lame that he’d drag up this old BS, not to mention he’s the one being negative not her,” a source close to Grande told the site this week. “It actually makes her feel like she’s winning, he’s the one writing about her, not the other way around.”
“Big Sean used to accuse her of being too much drama,” a source told the site of Ariana and Big Sean’s romance, which spanned from 2014 to 2015.
“When they fought he’d say she was bringing him down so it makes sense that he’d say she was negative,” the Grande insider continued, suggesting that it was, in fact, Ariana on the receiving end of Big Sean’s musical diss.
But it sounds like Ariana isn’t too worried about Big Sean’s alleged slam, as the source admitted that Grande, who’s rumored to now be dating dancer Rickey Alvarez, is actually “laughing about” the reference.
“Sean is always talking about how positive he is but this song just proves he’s not as perfect as he likes to think,” the source added.
But despite Big Sean so far staying tight-lipped regarding just who is the inspiration behind the song, this isn’t the first time Sean has been accused of putting his life into lyrics when it comes to his former relationship with Ariana Grande.
According to TMZ, Grande allegedly ended her relationship with Sean last year after he “humiliated” her with some pretty risque lyrics about their sex life in his track “Stay Down.”
The site reported in 2015 that Ariana decided to break-up with the rapper after he referenced her in the track, where he called Grande “a million dollar chick” with “a billion dollar p****.” Sean then also rapped “Every time I c**, I swear to God I feel like I be rich.”
Big Sean later spoke out about his and Grande’s romance, as well as his failed engagement to former Glee star Naya Rivera, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, where he admitted that there were “no mistakes” in his past dating life.
“Man, you know, I don’t plan relationships. They just happen. That’s all it is,” Big Sean said shortly after his big split with Ariana. “I’m just… I’m just living it. It’s no, it’s no God, it’s no script. You know, we just out here doing what we doin’. Feelin’ it out.”
Do you think Big Sean is rapping about his former relationship with Ariana Grande in “Cruel Winter?”
