Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt love children, as shown by their large family. But for Angelina, that longing to be surrounded by children of all ages includes babies, which has become problematic as her own kids grow up. Brad and Jolie have six children , ranging in age from 14-year-old Maddox to 7-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, reported People.
So, even though at 12, the second oldest, Pax, isn’t yet a teenager, and 10-year-old Zahara, Shiloh, 9, and the twins remain young, Angelina misses having babies around. But Jolie has found an answer in her upcoming film, which includes literally hundreds of little ones.
“I’m surrounded by toys. We have 250 children in a scene, so I filled the house, my car, my trailer with toys. It’s my ‘I love babies’ fix.”
Jolie also confessed that she is concerned her mothering instincts will have to be pushed away when she plays the role in the labor camp. The film First They Killed My Father portrays the Khmer Rouge genocide.
“This is going to be the hardest movie,” fretted the actress about how she’ll resist reaching out and hugging all the tiny children in the middle of the scene.
As part of their role, the children are instructed to weep and yell, making it especially challenging for the motherly actress to resist halting the scene to soothe the babies.
“They have to go through a labor camp,” explained Angelina. “They have to cry and scream. My instinct is to want to cut and hug everyone.”
In contrast to going solo on her new film, Jolie and Brad teamed up for By The Sea. The movie marks their first film together since Mr. & Mrs. Smith. In addition to co-starring with her 51-year-old husband, Angelina directed and wrote the tale of a marriage with major problems.
Illuminae tells the story of a hacking-happy teen girl whose ex-boyfriend is a fighter pilot. The plot ranges from bummers in the relationship area to cranky alien races, galaxy-level battles, and artificial intelligence run amok. Because the movie is based on the novel that is reported to be the first of a trilogy, Brad may have more such films already planned out for production.
And after reading the reviews of his collaboration with Angelina on By The Sea, Pitt may feel relieved that he’s decided to turn to sci-fi films because the couple’s movie is getting sinking reviews, reported the Washington Post.
Angelina has responded with a vehement denial when asked if the relationship problems portrayed in By The Sea highlight her own secret issues with Brad.
“Brad and I have our issues, but if the characters were even remotely close to our problems we couldn’t have made the film,” insisted Jolie. “To be clear: we have fights and problems like any other couple. We have days when we drive each other absolutely mad and want space, but the problems in the movie aren’t our specific problems.”
