According to a report by Pitchfork , The Afghan Whigs, critically acclaimed 90’s soul rock band, will play their first live show in 13 years in 2012 when they perform at next year’s ATP two day festival in May.
The band, led by Greg Dulli of The Twilight Singers and The Gutter Twins, will play the I’ll Be Your Mirror weekend event at London’s Alexandra Palace on May 25-27, 2012, replacing former headliners, Guided By Voices.
Other performers include Slayer, Mogwai, Dirty Three, Yuck, Melvins, Sleep, Mudhoney, Codeine, Archers of Loaf, Chavez, Yob and Wolves in the Throne Room.
On top of this, The Afghan Whigs, known for their explosive gigs and charging, soulful grunge-rock, have also been confirmed to be the curators and headliners of the second edition of ATP in Asbury Park, New Jersey, which takes place September 21-23.
Tickets and accommodation for that event go on sale in January.
