If a recent incident at an Ohio showing of Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” is any indication, apparently the current wave of wannabe copycat killers isn’t going to end anytime soon. The Associated Press reports that a North Ridgeville man attempted to bring a gun, two loaded magazines, and several knives into a Saturday screening of the latest Batman adventure. The individual’s name has not been made available to the media as of this writing.

As the suspect was about to enter the 10 p.m. screening of the aforementioned endeavor, the manager on-duty thought something was clearly suspicious about the moviegoer and the large satchel he was bringing with him to the show. An off-duty Westlake policeman working as security for the theater searched the man’s bag, discovering the small collection of weaponry in the process. Not surprisingly, the man was promptly arrested.

As a direct result of his actions on Saturday night, police immediately secured a search warrant. Cleveland.com reports that a search of the would-be copycat’s home was executed on Monday night. Presently, it’s not known if any additional weapons were found in his place of residence.

Since 24-year-old James Holmes killed 12 people and wounded scores of others during a midnight screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” back in July, moviegoers have been a little anxious and understandably nervous about suspicious folks acting out while watching the film. Just last week, a man shouted “This is it!” during a showing of the Batman flick, prompting nearly 100 individuals to flee the theater in panic .

In a much more disturbing instance, Maine resident Timothy Courtois was pulled over for speeding one day after watching “The Dark Knight Rises”. According to Courtois , he was on his way to murder his former employer, a fact he readily admitted to authorities. A quick search of his car revealed firearms, ammunition, and several press clippings about James Holmes and the Aurora, Colorado shooting.
