A Tennessee road rage shooting ended with bikers being lambasted verbally with racist slurs and then shot at.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , it was the bikers who were at fault when they attacked a family in a SUV after figuratively butting heads in traffic . And an Orlando road rage shooting was said to be a case of mistaken identity .
The odd part about about the whole Tennessee road rage story is that the assailant, Rodney Lee Scott, has done something similar on exactly the same road. Back in 2002, Scott supposedly stopped a car and then assaulted a passenger inside. But these charges were dismissed after Scott completed probation.
In this case of road rage, Scott was driving a SUV and almost managed to run over two bikers named Tyler Lakin and J.R. Trisler. When they began to wave their arms at him he made an obscene gesture and then backed his vehicle over the bikers, knocking Trisler over his motorcycle.
Scott fled the scene, but a witness helped the bikers and followed the SUV to Scott’s home. They called the police and, while waiting at the curb, Scott began hurling racial slurs at the bikers, one of whom is African American. But then he began hurling bullets, rushing the bikers with a gun in each hand.
So what started as a simple case of Tennessee road rage ended in a shooting. Lakin was shot three times in the back and once in the wrist. Even as Lakin lay bleeding in the road, Scott continued to fire his guns at the biker. Fortunately, he was rushed to the hospital and he was listed in stable condition as of this afternoon.
Rodney Lee Scott , for his part, is unlikely to get out of jail any time soon. He has a $1 million bond and he’s been slapped with multiple charges, including attempted murder.
