The Movember mustaches madness is being celebrated by 80 percent of women, so all those single men that hate mustaches better take notice.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , the Red Sox beards were shaved as part of a Gilette event after the Sox World Series win . But it wasn’t quite Movember yet, so they can be forgiven.
Movember, or no shave November , has an interesting back story. In 2003, two friends, Travis Garone and Luke Slattery from Melbourne Australia, were drinking some beers at the Gypsy Bar on Brunswick St, Fitzroy when they started discussing the ebb and flow of fashion trends. Then it happened. Where had the mustache, “Mo”, gone?
So they decided to create Movember, although at first the idea didn’t have a cause. Eventually, they took on Prostate cancer, unofficially partnering with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA). And the rest is Movember history…
A new Movember poll gives another incentive to guys to grow a mustache. About 20 percent of women would be more likely to date a guy growing a ‘stache in Movember. Another 55 percent said that if a guy is doing it to raise awareness of Movember charities, they’re more likely to be interested. An astounding 80 percent of women said a Movember mustache makes a guy look fun, generous, rugged, and outdoorsy.
If that doesn’t convince you, then consider the fact that Kate Upton likes mustaches . (And suddenly every single guy drops their shavers…)
Sarah Beeny, who carried out the Movember survey , says no shave November is one of her favorite events:
“Movember is one of my favourite charity events. I encourage men to get involved every year and I’d definitely say growing a Mo makes a guy more attractive to women. It shows that he is kind-hearted, has a sense of humour and doesn’t take himself too seriously. Joining the Movember army supports such a fantastic cause, and could also get you a date at the same time! Any woman that says she isn’t curious about being kissed by a hairy-lipped lothario has to be lying.”
But not everyone likes Movember . One school banned no shave November because girls can’t grow them. But that didn’t stop one woman from growing a Movember beard . And if you have trouble growing out your whiskers, be aware that a mustache transplant is a real medical option .
