Filming on the upcoming action flick The Expendables 3 is currently underway in Bulgaria.
It’s been a long time coming, but Sylvester Stallone and Red Hill director Patrick Hughes are finally getting the next installment of the franchise in front of the camera. In order to prove to everyone that work is underway, star Arnold Schwarzenegger recently shared a set photo on Instagram.
Joining the Terminator star in the picture is Hughes and Indiana Jones alum Harrison Ford . For many fans who grew up during the 80s and 90s, seeing the actors in the same movie will be incredibly strange. Ford doesn’t typically work on this sort of production.
Although producer Boaz Davidson shared the official cast list not too long ago, the exactly plot details remained a mystery. However, the official synopsis was finally released to fans one day after filming on The Expendables 3 began.
Here’s the lengthy plot description in its entirety:
Barney, Christmas, and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks, who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster, and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.
