Showtime’s ‘Homeland’ Will Supplement Storylines With Audible.com

Fans of Showtime’s hit series Homeland may soon find themselves investing more time in the series. The shows producers on Friday announced new supplemental stories provided by Audible.com.

The audio files are tied to Homeland plot developments and will be offered over three seasons.

The series premiere of Homeland season three will air on Sunday, October 13. Following the season premiere fans can visit Audible.com to download a free 30 minute story performed by Damien Lewis, who plays Nicholas Brody.

Future installments of the Audible.com supplemental series will be recorded by different actors from the show.

According to a statement from Audible.com:

“Each of the audio stories will relate to an important plot line introduced this season. [It] is the perfect complement to your Season 3 viewing, and a great way for current and new fans to get to know what drives one of the most fascinating characters on television.”

Audible.com supplemental stories for Homeland were written by Emmy-winning television and screenwriter Glenn Gers, along with various writers from Fox TV.

Homeland is hardly the first TV show to offer supplemental information to enrich its plotlines, however, most networks have focused on internet video streaming and other newer technologies to reach their most engaged audience members.

The shows producers promise that missing the Audible.com information will not leave Homeland fans confused when new episodes air.

Given the popularity of the Showtime series I have a feel that the Audible.com files will be very popular among hardcore fans.
