Joe Scarborough Divorce Details: Still Lives With Ex, But There Are Rules

Joe Scarborough quietly divorced his second wife back in January, but there’s no reason the gossip media can’t pore over his settlement now to learn a few things about the MSNBC host. For instance, did you know that he makes nearly $100,000 a week?

TMZ did a follow-up on Scarborough’s divorce after breaking the story earlier in the week, and found that the settlement doesn’t much benefit the pundit’s ex-wife, Susan Waren.

For instance, Scarborough makes about $99,038 per week from Morning Joe. According to the divorce documents, he won’t be paying child support, and his alimony is very low.

He’ll be giving Susan about $30,000 each month for the next five years, and then $25,000 each month for the two after that. Scarborough will also give her a lump sum of $150,000 and will continue paying the mortgage on their Connecticut home, as well as schooling for the couple’s two children.

They will share joint custody of their kids, 10-years-old and 5-years-old, and are currently still living together with them. But there are rules for that, too. When they’re both in the Connecticut home, they cannot enter each others’ bedroom unless there’s an emergency with one of their children. After 7 PM, they’re each banned from the others side of the house, as well.

The gossip rag noted that one clause in the settlement was particularly “interesting”… that Susan acknowledged Scarborough as a faithful, devoted and committed husband. Rumors that the 50-year-old former Florida congressman had been unfaithful go back many years, with many speculating that he and his co-host Mika Brzezinski (who is married) have a loose on-again, off-again affair.

Both Scarborough and Brzezinski have maintained that they’re just friends.

The acrimony between Scarborough and his ex-wife might be a tad forced. The two released a statement which said that they are still “close friends” and that they’re committed to raising their children together.

“This was a difficult decision but after much prayer and counseling, we concluded it was the right one for our family,” they said.

Joe Scarborough and Susan Waren divorced quietly in January of this year after filing in September 2012. She was his second wife.
