Justin Timberlake Is Still The President Of Pop, Scores Second Number One Album Of 2013

Justin Timberlake is still the President of pop! The numbers are in, and it looks like his Part 2 of The 20/20 Experience is another hit for Timberlake. This is the second album in 2013 to hit number one on the Billboard charts for Timberlake.

Justin Timberlake released the second album of his double disc for The 20/20 Experience on September 30, and Billboard has reported that it scored the top position by selling 350,000 units within the first week. This report comes courtesy of Nelsen SoundScan.

Currently Timberlake has the record for the largest sales week for his release of The 20/20 Experience Part 1. When the album was released on March 23 it debuted at number one with a whopping 968,000 units sold within the first week. This is a huge feat, and one that only artists like Jay Z and Taylor Swift can pull in.

Having two number one albums in the span of six months is a great feat for any artist. It’s extremely rare for an artist, such as Timberlake, who was absent from the music industry for six years. During his six-year hiatus Timberlake decided to focus on acting where he starred in films like Friends With Benefits, In Time, and The Social Network.

However, it’s not all good news for Timberlake. While the entertainer is succeeding as a musician, his acting career seems to be taking a back seat, as his film Runner Runner tanked at the box office over the weekend.

That said, we don’t think Justin Timberlake is throwing a pity party over it. It seems like Timberlake is organizing his priorities and finally putting music first in his career. Timberlake is the second artist to have two number 1s in 2013. The second being country artist Luke Bryan.
