Jada Pinkett Smith Shaves Her Head

Jada Pinkett Smith was spotted in Los Angeles this week with a radical new hairstyle.

The 42-year-old actress took a cue from her daughter Willow Smith and shaved the sides of her head.

The paparazzi may have gotten its first look at Smith’s new haircut this week at LAX but the actress has actually been sporting the new look for a little while now. At the end of September she posted a photo on her Facebook page from the bayous of Louisiana that showcased her new look.

Jada wrote: “About to roll through the beautiful swamps of Louisiana with Willow and Jaden as well: It was an amazing day, and I feel so lucky to have a beautiful family to have shared it with.”

Jada Pinkett Smith is in a pretty good place now but it hasn’t always been that way. The actress recently told her fans that she battled addiction when she was a teenager.

Jada wrote at the time: “Yesterday I turned one year older, and I reflected on where I have been and where I am now. What I learned about myself is this, when I was younger I was not a good problem solver, meaning I had a very difficult time with dealing with my problems in life. I had many addictions, of several kinds, to deal with my life issues, but today, at 42, I have my wisdom, my heart and my conscience as the only tools to overcome life’s inevitable obstacles. I have become a good problem solver with those tools, and I am damn proud. Thank you for all the love that was given to me for my birthday this year.”
