On DWTS , Julianne Hough had some harsh words for former partner Mark Ballas.
Dancing With The Stars ‘ Julianne Hough used to be partnered with Ballas, but it’s probably good the pair are no longer in a position to step on one another’s feet.
After Mark paired up last night with Christina Milian, Hough assessed her set with Ballas — and barely hid her contempt.
The critique out of nowhere was a bit awkward for sure, as Julianne set into Mark as she discussed his performance with Milian this week.
As a guest judge last night, Hough was in a position to be on the other side of the table when her former partner danced — and she didn’t pull punches.
Speaking to Milian, Hough was blunt, and she said of the set:
“I really wanted to see you shine… I danced with Mark. You have to stand in front to make sure you’re seen .”
It wasn’t just the audience picking up on the straightforward slight — Milian saw it as well, and addressed it when she answered.
Christian shot back, saying to Julianne:
“We shine together.”
That wasn’t the end of Christina Milian’s commentary on Hough’s remark — after the show, she addressed the moment again, saying of her performance with Ballas:
“We take the high road… As long as we know that we did a fantastic job, that makes me happy.”
For his part, Ballas admits that Hough’s words were a bit of a shock. He says He tries to take it in stride, but admits to being a little bit bothered by the veiled attack — he said of his former partner’s harsh criticism:
“She put a little sting on me, but that’s okay… That’s how she felt. It is what it is.”
