Confused Grandpa Picks Up Wrong Kid From School, Investigation Launched

A confused grandpa picked up the wrong child from school last week and now an investigation has been launched.

According to a report in Kent Online, the grandfather, located in England, picked up a girl in the same grade as his granddaughter. The girl also had the same first name which only served to confuse matters further.

The little girl accompanied the grandfather on a bus from her school to the doctor. After an appointment the girl was prescribed liquid paracetamol before the other girls grandpa returned her to class.

When the girl returned home at the end of the day she showed the medicine to her mother.

The incident occurred at Gillingham’s Napier primary school on Tuesday morning. The girl’s father wasn’t sure if she actually visited the clinic so he took her to the facility to confirm her story.

The girls father explains his reaction: “I went ballistic. I was boiling inside. The first thing I thought was the worst. I had to ask my daughter the sort of questions no parent ever wants to ask: ‘Did he do this, did he do that?’.

Her dad adds: “When your daughter has been walked round town and taken on a bus by a strange man, it makes you sick to the stomach. It’s every parent’s worst nightmare. Everyone knows to tell their children not to go with strangers, but I want to tell every parent in that school – tell them again tonight. Thank God it was an innocent thing done by a confused old gentleman.”

The school is now under review for its lax security policy which will likely be strengthened to avoid any further incidents.

The head teacher at Gillingham’s has offered a full apology to the young girl and her parents.

Would you go ballistic if the same thing happened to your child?
