‘State Of Decay’ Sells Over 1 Million Copies, DLC On The Way

Undead Labs’ open-world adventure State of Decay has moved over one million copies since it first arrived for Xbox 360 in June.

The survival horror title’s popularity spiked considerably thanks to its release on Steam last month. According to IGN, the game doubled its sales since hitting Xbox Live over the summer. Developers are hoping to lure in more gamers with their upcoming DLC pack.

The company explained:

“As we said at the half million mark, we are humbled by your continuing support and enthusiasm for the ideas in State of Decay. Your encouragement drives us to keep working and keep improving. You got us here with your energy, your feedback, and your telling your friends about us. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and brains.”

VG247 reports that State of Decay: Breakdown will add new weapons, heroic characters, and an all-new Survival Mode. Instead of working their way through a series of missions, players will see just how long they can survive during the zombie apocalypse.

When will Breakdown finally be available to download? Unfortunately, a release date isn’t available as of this writing. However, Undead Labs recently tweeted that more information about the DLC is coming this Monday (October 5).

If you’re into zombies and simulation games, then State of Decay is most certainly for you. Not only do players set to thrash their way through thousands shambling blood-thirsty monsters, they also have to manage a small cluster of survivors who are prone to fits of anger and despair. Keeping people happy is a job all by itself.

Although the Xbox 360 version is thoroughly enjoyable, the visually-superior PC edition is really the way to go. Check out the trailer on your way out.

Are you currently obsessed with State of Decay? Do you plan to pick up the Breakdown DLC when it’s finally available for purchase?
