Miley Cyrus’ Rolling Stone Revealing Interview: Weed, Twerking, Racism, More

Miley Cyrus was recently interviewed by Rolling Stone and the topics were wide ranging, from her drug of choice weed, to twerking on the VMAs, to racism, and well anything in between.

Some of the highlights of the outspoken diva’s interview, which according to the magazine was a lot longer than planned and needed to be summarized, are sure to raise more than one eyebrow. But let’s get to it.

About the teddy bear costume she used at the VMAs the pop sensation said,

“When I’m in that teddy bear suit, I’m like a creepy, sexy baby. But I forget that it’s, like, people in Kansas watching the show. That people that sit their kid in front of the TV and are like, “Oh, an awards show! Let’s watch.” Oops, it would be nice if she could remember that.

Where has Miley Cyrus been living? She doesn’t realize racism is still around.

“I didn’t really realize it, but people are still racist. It’s kind of insane. Like if I had come out [at the VMAs] with all white-girl dancers, and done the f***ing “Cha Cha Slide”— same outfit, same everything — it wouldn’t have been bad. But because of who I came out with, people got upset. Because they were girls from the club. They had thick asses. They were twerking. That’s what I want, though — I want real girls up there who can really party.”

Who believes that the controversy about the VMAs performance had to do with the dancers Cyrus used on stage? First time we hear that one.

The former Disney star also talked about her drug of choice, weed. Saying she loves it because it’s a social drug and makes one want to be with friends as opposed to…oh, let’s say coke, which is “so gross and so dark. It’s like what are you, from the ’90s? Ew.”

When talking about the “Wrecking Ball” video Miley Cyrus told Rolling Stone she wanted it to be a modern version of Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares To You” video from the ’90s.

“Hopefully an artist 30 years from now will be like “Yo you remember that Miley Cyrus video? We gotta do something like that.”

In 30 years, is anyone going to remember Miley Cyrus? We will have to see.

About her sticking her tongue out constantly, she says it’s because it’s awkward to smile for pictures, so hey, why not stick your tongue out, right?

Cyrus also says that it’s “empowering” about it, “There’s something empowering about what I’m doing right now. Especially having ‘short hair don’t care.’ I think it’s empowering for girls. Because there’s not one thing that defines what beauty is.”

We also find out that Hannah Montana thinks cats are “f***ing creepy”. She says she is terrified of chihuahuas and small dogs in general because she thinks they’re going to turn on her and run away.

Miley Cyrus has no sympathy for Walter White’s (Breaking Bad) cough attacks. The character, played by Brian Cranston is dying of terminal lung cancer.

“I’m in the first season, and the coughing is driving me crazy. Like, we get it. You’re dying. Do you really need a whole two-minute scene of another cough attack? It’s too much. In every bad situation, how does he get out? He just starts coughing.

In case you didn’t know, Miley does a lot of humanitarian work with deaf children in Haiti, which she has visited several times.

“I’m touching everyone’s hands, I get wasted on rum. Haitians are awesome. They have no idea who I am. They know that I’m someone, but they don’t know what. They just know that they’re selling my backpacks in the street.”

Unfortunately, even the summary is too long to put in one page, but you can read the full Miley Cyrus’Rolling Stone magazine interview on their website.
