Dylan Sprouse Defends Restaurant Hosting Job, Former Disney Star Insists He’s Not Broke

Dylan Sprouse, a former Disney star who appeared in the channel’s hit show, Suite Life Of Zach & Cody, has responded to claims that he is bankrupt after he was spotted working at a New York City restaurant.

Sprouse wrote a message to those who have accused him of being in financial ruins on his blog earlier this week explaining his predicament.

The actor wrote, “So many pictures have gotten out that I’m now working as a host at a restaurant in NY. To clear up the air (which is admittedly pretty rude), I did not take this job because I ‘lost all my money,’ I am financially secure, and took this job as a way to primarily feed my over bountiful video game addiction.”

The 21-year-old then went on to add, “I also took this as a way to try a new experience, working somewhat below the means I’m used to, as well as a way to socialize and get out of the house.”

Sprouse continued, “I feel most comfortable when I’m working and doing something, to criticise someone of that is pretty odd. I will potentially return to acting someday, but in no way do I think any experience is a step down for me, but rather a new step in another direction.”

Alongside his twin brother, Cole Sprouse, Dylan starred in Suite Life Of Zach & Cody and The Suite Life on Deck for six years, between 2005 and 2011.

He admitted that the pair left the show because they wanted to go to university, and since October 2012 he has been studying video game design at New York University, with a double major in poetry.

Previously, he confirmed that he and his brother left the show because they wanted to gain an education before returning to acting once they had aged and left behind their Disney personas.
