Lindsay Lohan is trying her best to get things back on track following her stint in rehab. However, The Canyons director Paul Schrader isn’t very impressed with her progress.
Although the troubled actress obviously couldn’t promote the flick while she was receiving treatment, Schrader had hoped she would pick up the slack once her 90-day court-ordered stay was complete. However, it would seem that Lohan isn’t interested in helping spread the good word.
Paul Schrader recently addressed Lindsay Lohan’s refusal to promote The Canyons in a recent post on the movie’s official Facebook page. According to the acclaimed filmmaker, he remains completely “mystified and disappointed” by her decision to not support the flick.
Not only is Lohan the star of the erotic drama, she is also a producer. Schrader claims the actress has a 25 percent stake in the picture. Despite her investment in the movie, she apparently has refused to do any sort of promotion.
“The Venice red carpet is one of the extraordinary plums of the festival circuit. She repeatedly said she would come to Venice but never did. She said you would suppport the film but never did. She never showed for the photo sessions, including the session for the ad campaign art,” he explained.
The director continued, “I can only surmise that Lindz had decided that Canyons is part of a reprobate past she must put behind her in order to move forward. She was never comfortable working with James Deen and perhaps this still sticks in her craw.”
This isn’t the first time Paul Schrader has shared his disappointment with Lindsay Lohan with the world. The Inquisitr previously reported that the filmmaker discussed working with the actress during his appearance at the Venice Film Festival last month .
“For the last 16 months I’ve been hostage, by own choosing, to a very talented but unpredictable actress,” the filmmaker explained to reporters at the event.
