Missing Toddler’s Mom And Posse Of Supporters Confront Girl’s Father In Courthouse

A missing toddler’s mom and a group of supporters chased down the father of the missing girl, calling him a murderer and demanding that police arrest him.

Two days ago, Trista Reynolds went public with evidence police had shared on the disappearance of her girl, who was 20 months old when she disappeared from a home in Waterville, Maine, in December 2011.

Reynolds said police showed her photographs in January of the house where Ayla Reynolds was last seen. Trista said the photographs showed blood “everywhere” in the home of the girl’s grandmother, which she described as “a murder scene.”

“There was just like Ayla’s blood… everywhere,” said the missing toddler’s mom.

Reynolds said the photos showed blood in Ayla’s bedroom and on a living room sofa, and in the basement there was a blood stain on the mattress and sheets where Ayla’s father, Justin DiPietro, slept.

The missing toddler’s mother disclosed the evidence on a blog she maintains to release information on Ayla’s disappearance, and called for police to arrest DiPietro and the two other people in the home at the time.

“All three of those people were in that house that night,” the mother said. “All three of them know what happened to Ayla, and all three of them should be prosecuted for it.”

Police have not yet charged DiPietro, who said that Ayla was kidnapped, but on Wednesday Trista Reynolds and some supporters took matters into their own hands.

Justin DiPietro was in court on Wednesday facing a charge that he violated the conditions of his release on a July arrest for allegedly assaulting a former girlfriend. As he walked out of the courthouse with his lawyer, Justin was confronted by Trista Reynolds and close to a dozen supporters.

The group chased DiPietro through a parking garage and into a police station, shouting “murderer” and “Where’s Ayla?” Eventually Reynolds and her posse gave up.

Though police have still not brought charges in Ayla Reynolds’ disappearance, the missing toddler’s mom said she still hopes publicizing the case will lead prosecutors to finally charge DiPietro.
