Jennifer Garner Shoots Back At Paparazzi

Actress Jennifer Garner is a mom to three kids and also a Hollywood star (along with hubby Ben Affleck), which means that wherever they go, cameras follow — but the celeb lost her patience with one photog over the weekend.

Along with Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner is trying to reform the paparazzi’s practices using laws against stalking. She even broke down when arguing for more strict laws to govern celeb pic snappers in public, saying that the climate is hard for her kids.

Last month, Garner broke down when explaining to the Assembly Judiciary Committee that an actual stalker used the cover of everyday photographers to trail her. But she also says that merely being photographed in public alone is very hard on her kids.

Jennifer said at the time that she realized how her career affects her family as a matter of course — but pled to have the privacy of her small children, who made no such choice, be considered. She explained tearfully:

“I chose a public life… my three children are private citizens. I love my kids. They’re beautiful and sweet and innocent, and I don’t want a gang of shouting, arguing, lawbreaking photographers who camp out everywhere we are all day every day to continue traumatizing my kids.”

Unsurprisingly, photographers do not agree with Garner or Berry on the matter — saying that stars have to expect some level of intrusion.

One paparazzo spoke to ABC, and Henry Flores says that such a measure simply cannot be taken seriously — he countered:

“You cannot be in a paparazzi hot zone and not expect to get photographed… It’s ridiculous. It’s kind of like, you know, going to the crocodile den and expect not to be eaten.”

While it’s not likely to help Jennifer Garner much legally when it comes to passing restrictions on the behavior, the star did hit back in her own way — over the weekend, she grabbed her phone and began taking pictures of the pap taking hers in frustration as she tried to shop at a farmer’s market in California.
