Elisabeth Hasselbeck To Make ‘Fox & Friends’ Debut On Monday [Video]
Elisabeth Hasselbeck is ready to make her debut on Fox & Friends. The former star of The View will join the morning show on this Monday.
In a new promo for Fox & Friends, Hasselbeck says that she feels like she’s been called up to the major leagues.
Hasselbeck said: “I’d almost make the analogy that it’s being called up to play for one of your favorite teams in the major leagues.”
Entertainment Weekly notes that Fox & Friends is far behind morning shows like Good Morning America but the Fox program dominates morning viewership on cable. Last year, the show averaged 1.1 million viewers.
The show may lose some viewers now that Gretchen Carlson has said her goodbyes but Hasselbeck has a pretty strong following of her own.
Hasselbeck has appeared on Fox several times in the past and she said that she immediately felt at home with Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade.
Hasselbeck said: “I am privileged to call myself a team member but I have felt like family there for a long time.”
Of course, there is one thing that the new co-host of Fox & Friends will have to get used to: Waking up early.
The morning show starts at 6 am and Hasselbeck admits that it will take a little getting used to.
Hasselbeck said: “I definitely trend toward the natural night owl end of the spectrum. This has been a physical change for me. I actually think the morning hours are kind of peaceful when you have the house to yourself.”
