‘Jurassic Park 4’ Pitch Trailer ‘Not A Part Of The Movie,’ Says Producer

The internet was buzzing yesterday after what appeared to be footage from Jurassic Park 4 started making the rounds. However, the film’s producer was quick to burst everyone’s bubble.

Shortly after Universal Pictures revealed the title and release date for the next installment of the franchise, a so-called “pitch trailer” for the flick bubbled to the surface. Everyone immediately assumed that this was the first look at Jurassic World.

After giving viewers a look at a flying dinosaur soaring through the skies, the clip takes an unexpected turn. Although the footage may start out harmless enough, what happens to the poor folks enjoying a day at the beach is a little shocking.

According to Screen Crush, the supposed Jurassic Park 4 pitch trailer was put together by artist Ian McCraig. He’s the guy who gave Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace villain Darth Maul his unique look. The footage first appeared at the recent Celebration II Star Wars event in Germany.

After everyone started freaking out about the trailer, someone decided to ask producer Frank Marshall about the clip on Twitter. Despite what you may have read elsewhere, Marshall said that the footage found in the video is not from director Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic Park 4.

If this isn’t footage from the upcoming sequel, then what are we looking at? The folks at Empire theorize that it could be concept footage designed to inspire ideas for Jurassic World or concept footage from a video game.

What we do know is that the next installment is currently slated to arrive in June of 2015. The film will have a lot of competition from other high-profile motion pictures that summer.

Here’s the footage in question. The clip may disappear without notice, so enjoy it while you can.
