Romain Dauriac: Just Who Is Scarlett Johansson’s New Fiance?
Romain Dauriac may not be a household name, but now that he’s set to become Mr. Scarlett Johansson the internet is scrambling to learn about the mysterious Frenchman.
The 28-year-old actress reportedly got engaged to Dauriac after ten months of dating. Though Dauriac actually popped the question close to a month ago, reports just came out this week about their plans to marry.
Scarlett Johansson was spotted wearing her vintage Art Deco engagement ring while promoting her movie Under The Skin, leading to questions of whether she was engaged.
“They’re engaged and very happy,” a source confirmed to People magazine about the couple, who are currently in Italy for the Venice Film Festival.
There was still some doubt before the confirmation if Scarlett was really engaged. She’s been known to wear diamond rings on her left hand in the past, and was seen in July wearing a gold ring with a diamond and ruby. Though this arose suspicions that she could be getting married, Scarlett put a stop to the rumors and said it was “simply a piece of jewelry.”
So just who is Romain Dauriac, the man who finally did put a ring on her finger? He is a French journalist, the former editor of the magazine Clark, which focuses on urban art. He since moved out of the magazine business and is now the manager of a creative agency.
He and Scarlett Johansson started dating last November, and went public at the premiere of her movie Hitchcock. Reports say they hooked up through a mutual friend, the tattoo artist Fuzi (who was the one responsible for Scarlett’s latest tattoo, a horseshoe).
Like Johanson, Romain Dauriac appears to value his privacy. Neither of them are big on sharing and both tend to stay away from social media (Dauriac does have a Twitter account, but hasn’t tweeted in more than three years). Likewise, Scarlett Johansson has said that social media “drives me crazy” and that she doesn’t see the need to share information so freely.
It sounds like Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac could be a perfect fit.
