Taylor Swift Offered Role In Matthew Vaughn's 'The Secret Service'

Taylor Swift is taking a short break from music to play a part in an upcoming spy flick. The singer has reportedly been offered a role in Matthew Vaughn's The Secret Service.

The X-Men: First Class director is currently busy piecing together the cast for his upcoming adaptation of Mark Millar's comic book. Vaughn has reached out to Swift in hopes of landing her for the flick.

According to the Daily Mirror, a source close to the production said the 23-year-old singer was a "natural" on the screen. This reportedly prompted Vaughn to approach Taylor Swift for a role. She will appear alongside such notable talent as Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Firth, and Michael Caine.

"Matthew looked at a number of actresses to play the part before settling on Taylor. She's also someone fresh and unseen in Hollywood terms which was massively appealing," the source told the publication.

To prepare for her role in The Secret Service, Swift will be required to undergo some martial arts training. Since Vaughn wants her to "convincingly kick Samuel L Jackson's butt" in the flick, she'll need to learn the art of cinematic fighting.

Taylor Swift is reportedly very excited about the possibility of working with David Beckham in Matthew Vaughn's upcoming adaptation. The soccer star is also slated to make an appearance in The Secret Service.

Although reports suggest the singer could possibly sign on for the project, nothing about her involvement has been confirmed by anyone officially associated with the film. Fans should probably wait until Swift announces the role before getting overwhelmingly excited about the situation.

The folks at 20th Century Fox hope to have the movie in the can and ready to roll by November 14, 2014. However, that release date could always change without notice.

What do you think about Taylor Swift possibly landing a role in director Matthew Vaughn's adaptation of The Secret Service? Do you believe she's right for the movie?
