Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth was hungry for White Castle.
And now the burger chain wants to induct him into its Hall of Fame, with a donation to charity to sweeten the deal as it were.
Growing up in Australia, Hemsworth recently told Jimmy Kimmel that Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle was one of his favorite movies. But he didn’t realize that White Castle at the time was real fast-food restaurant and not just made up for the comedy film.
He learned otherwise when he came to America, but there are no White Castle outlets in Los Angeles. As part of a bonding experience, Hunger Games co-star Josh Hutcherson took Hemsworth to a White Castle near Hutcherson’s home in Kentucky, i.e., Liam and Josh go to White Castle.
The duo bought “three or four briefcases” of White Castle burgers, Hemsworth claimed. “We at them” and then “about a half hour later… we went out to his garden and threw up together,” Hemsworth revealed on the Kimmel show (see embed above).
White Castle was apparently thrilled when the company subsequently learned how the actor ate the equivalent of 45 of their burgers even if he couldn’t keep them down, according to TMZ.
“A rep for White Castle tells TMZ… it’s impressed Liam could down that many burgers in one sitting and wants to induct Liam into the White Castle Hall of Fame (apparently that’s a thing). Even better, WC wants to donate $20,000 to a charity of his choice.”
When it comes to eating burgers, the Hunger Games star apparently has got game.
Celebrity relationship news should always be taken with a grain of salt. Hemsworth, however, was also reportedly less than overjoyed with fiancee Miley Cyrus’ VMA 2012 twerking performance last Sunday night. As we reported previously, one source claims that Liam was left bemused by the raunchy act and is embarrassed beyond words at what he’s been seeing on TV. The source suggests that those around the actor are urging him to break things off with Miley.
