Jennifer Garner Opens Up About Her Marriage To Scott Foley
We have gotten used to seeing Jennifer Garner happily married, but that was not the case with her relationship to Scott Foley, her ex-husband.
Jennifer, who is now married to actor/director soon-to-be Batman, Ben Affleck tells Allure, that her and Foley were not meant to be.
The former couple worked together in the TV series Felicity, in which Garner guest starred in 1998 playing the role of Hannah Bib.
“Oh, he’s a great guy.” the Alias star says, “We were full-on grown-ups, but looking back I’m aware we did not know what hit us.”
Garner and Foley, both 41-years-old, married in October of 2000 after meeting on the set of Felicity, which also starred Kerri Russell. They were married for four years, but the relationship ended in March 2003 and the divorce was finalized the following year.
Garner says that they didn’t have a shot and adds that Foley is a really nice guy but “we just imploded”.
Shortly after her divorce from Scott Foley, Jennifer Garner started dating her current husband, Ben Affleck, whom she had met while filming Pearl Harbor in 2001.
The romance ignited during Affleck’s film as another superhero, Daredevil in 2003. The couple married in June of 2005 and now have three children Violet, 7, Seraphina, 4, and Samuel who is 18 months old.
Meanwhile, Scott Foley, who has starred in several well known TV shows and movies such as Scrubs, The Unit, True Blood, and Grey’s Anatomy, married fellow actress Marika Dominczyk in June 2007.
The couple has two children Malina, 3, and Keller, 16 months.
Jennifer told Allure that one of the things she’s learned from her second marriage to Ben Affleck is to be cautious about attending Hollywood events together.
Garner says that it can be hard, especially on women of famous men, they tend to lose their identity when they become “the wife of”.
It’s refreshing to see that some in Hollywood can be civil, when talking about their exes.
Jennifer Garner still believes Scott Foley is a great guy and luckily, for both of them, they found happiness with their current spouses. Happy ending.
