‘Borderlands 2: Game Of The Year Edition’ Coming Soon, Says GameStop

Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition is on its way, according to GameStop.

The first-person shooter/role-playing and vault-hunter game which focuses on humor and over-the-top acting is apparently getting a Game of the Year Edition. Borderlands 2 differs from most games of its type by not only combining two genres that don’t ordinarily go together (FPS and RPG), but also randomly generating the loot you get from raiding vaults and killing Psychos.

Non-enemy AI characters will wander the world of Pandora at different times, adding to the unique quality and replay value of this unusual “role-playing shooter.”

Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition is reported to come with most of the DLC already integrated, a value of over $100 altogether.

The DLC said to be in the game will include:

  • Creature Slaughter Dome – Apparently a multiplayer arena with some Psychos thrown in.
  • Psycho Pack – This addition to Borderlands 2 gives you access to a playable Psycho named Krieg, a melee-type character.
  • Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s BootyCaptain Scarlett, a Sand Pirate captain, helps you through a new desert area that’s basically a dried up ocean, in the quest for Captain Blade’s Lost Treasure of the Sands.
  • Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt – Sir Hammerlock aids you in your quest to stop an evil witchdoctor from cloning Handsome Jack in Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition, as well as find some rare animals.

  • Mister Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage – A new vault has been discovered that will only open if the “champion” feeds it the blood of the “ultimate coward.” Mister Torgue hosts an arena battle which features appearances by Tiny Tina and Mad Moxxi.
  • Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon KeepTiny Tina hosts a role-playing board game with the other main characters, where she plays dungeon master.
  • Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade – Raises the level cap, the first of two upgrades so far.
  • Mechromancer Pack – This was originally a bonus added for pre-ordering Borderlands 2. It gives you access to golden weapons, a golden key, a relic, and a sixth playable character class, the aforementioned Mechromancer.

For those of you who have been waiting for a better deal on Borderlands 2, the Game of the Year Edition may be that deal you’ve been waiting for, and GameStop says it’s on its way.
