Katy Perry’s VMA Performance Is Under The Brooklyn Bridge

While everyone is still talking about ‘Nsync’s reunion at the VMA awards tonight, there’s still a few other performances worth seeing. One that’s sure to be exciting is Katy Perry’s closing number. In recent years the VMAs has tried to keep the last performance and the opening number locations under wraps.

It’s been reported that Katy Perry nabbed the coveted spot of closing the show. Her location, which up until now has been undisclosed, is believed to be under the Brooklyn Bridge. As reported before this year’s VMAs will head back to New York, and will be live from Brooklyn’s Barclay’s center.

Perry’s location’s surprise was ruined when numerous photos were leaked of the location spot, under the bridge. In numerous pictures a stage is in view, and its set decoration, which include golden lions.

In addition to the leak of the location, US Weekly had other scoop concerning Katy’s “Roar” performance. A source told US Weekly that this location wasn’t the pop star’s first pick. In fact, “She was supposed to perform on top of the Brooklyn Bridge but the city wouldn’t give her the permit.”

So far Perry has been breaking records, including her own, with her single “Roar.” In its first week of being release, the song sold a record-breaking number of 557,000 digital downloads. Her sales surpassed her single “Firework”, which is a record high for Perry, as she also defeated Lady Gaga’s “Applause” on the charts as well. Gaga’s single from her forthcoming album Artpop sold 218,000 downloads in her first week.

In addition to Katy Perry’s performance at the VMAs, other stars to hit the stage are, Justin Timberlake (with Nsync), Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Bruno Mars.

Scoring the other coveted spot of opening up the show is pop star Lady Gaga. This will be her second time opening the show. The last time Gaga opened the show, she dressed as her alter ego Joe Calderone in 2011.
