‘Knack’ Gamescon 2013 Trailer Drops [Video]
Knack has landed a Gamescon 2013 trailer.
One of the games that was confirmed as a PlayStation 4 launch title at Gamescon 2013 yesterday was Knack, an action platformer that’s been described as a cross between God Of War, Katamari Damacy, and Crash Bandicoot. The main character in the game is able to absorb new abilities as he finds them.
The story behind Knack involves a scientist who, in a time of war, discovered a way to combine ancient relics and give them sentient life. In the process, he creates a creature with mysterious powers and the ability to gain more. Knack becomes a secret weapon in the war with the Goblins, as his abilities allow him to turn from a three-foot-tall monster into a giant capable of mass destruction.
The Gamescon 2013 trailer for Knack begins with the scientist telling his creation, “Just go slow, little buddy,” as he motions for Knack to enter the next room, “You’ll be fine.”
Knack walks into the room in front of a crowd watching behind a one-way window. The scientist announces, “Behold Knack!” The creature seems to suck up a bunch of items into itself as the scientist continues, “Knack is capable of explosive growth. He will be invaluable in the fight against the Goblins.”
We see Knack jump from a ledge into a group of Goblins and then explode, before tossing a tank aside. We then see a group of aircraft closing in on a mountain before a guy helps another one up to a cave entrance, “Tunnels go on for miles. No telling what the Goblins are up to.”
A boulder suddenly falls from on high and barely misses one of the men before Knack raises a rock with a guy on it to the cliff above.
Then we see Knack helping a man by smashing a bridge, making it fall, apparently making it easier to reach the caves below.
