PlayStation 4: Sony Confirms 33 Launch Titles


PlayStation 4 has had 33 launch titles confirmed by Sony at Gamescon 2013.

Not to be outdone, Sony has fired back at the Xbox One, beating Microsoft’s launch library by ten titles at this point. In the end it all comes down to the games, and both consoles are ready right out of the gate.

Here are the 33 launch titles that will be available for the PlayStation 4 when it hits the stores:

  • Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – Take to the seas as a pirate in the Caribbean.
  • Battlefield 4 – This time the shooter will give you hybrid RTS style maps.
  • Call Of Duty: Ghosts – Dogs, women, and a camper-resistant gameplay await in this followup to the series.
  • Driveclub – Race against teams in this PS4 exclusive game.
  • FIFA 14 – Play some soccer in this latest edition of the series.
  • Just Dance 2014 – Party people in the house, this is your game.
  • Killzone: Shadow Fall – The PlayStation 4 exclusive followup to the FPS Killzone 3.
  • Knack – This platformer will have you absorbing elements as you go.
  • LEGO Marvel Superheroes – Marvel meets LEGO in this next-gen romp.

  • Madden NFL 25 – Play some football with commentary from the famous announcer.
  • NBA 2K14 – 2K Games takes on basketball.
  • NBA LIVE 14 – Electronic Arts takes on basketball.
  • Need For Speed: Rivals – The latest in the evolving racing series.
  • Skylanders: Swap Force – Toys meet video games in this sandbox game.
  • Watch Dogs – Hack your way through a futuristic Chicago.

The digital side of the PlayStation 4 launch lineup is as follows:

  • Basement Crawl – Not a lot is known about this PlayStation 4 title at this point.
  • Blacklight: Retribution – A free-to-play FPS.
  • Contrast – A puzzle game.
  • Counterspy – A 2D stealth side-scroller.
  • DC Universe Online – A DC Comics based MMORPG.

  • Doki-Doki Universe – An adventure game possibly related to Super Mario Bros. 2 (Doki Doki Panic! in Japan).
  • Flower – A casual emotion-based game.
  • Hohokum – A puzzle-based game starring a snake.
  • Minecraft – The block-style creation based game.
  • N++ – A platformer not much is known about.
  • The Pinball Arcade – This PlayStation 4 game simulates real-life pinball machines.
  • PlanetSide 2 – A free-to-play online FPS.
  • Pool Nation Extreme – Not much is known, but it is probably based on billiards.
  • ResoGun – A side-scrolling shoot-em-up.
  • Super Motherload – A role-playing puzzle game.
  • Tiny Brains – A puzzle game.
  • War Thunder – An online flight and combat simulator.
  • Warframe – A cooperative third-person shooter.
