‘Girl Meets World’ Casts Riley’s Crush And Her Adorable Little Brother

Disney’s Girl Meets World is announcing the casting of Peyton Meyer as Riley Matthews’ crush and August Maturo as her cute little brother in the spin-off of the 1990s series Boy Meets World.

In this new take on the popular sit-com, we will follow the life of Riley Matthews, the daughter of Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel), the protagonists of Boy Meets World, who come back to reprise their roles.

The ’90s series followed Cory as he grows up and changes from a boy to a young man. His then girlfriend Topanga is central to the story and is his first love.

Girl Meets World picks up ten years later, after Cory and Topanga get married and have two kids. Riley (Rowan Blanchard) is in 7th grade and trying to deal with her dad being a faculty member at her school.

Peyton Meyer will play Tristan Friar, who attends the same school as Riley and catches her eye with his good looks and charm. August Maturo has been cast to play Riley adorable little brother, Louis, Cory and Topanga’s youngest child.

Rowan Blanchard has appeared in Spy Kids: All The Time In The World In 4D and The Back Up Plan.

Rider Strong played Cory’s best friend, Shawn, with whom he shared his many adventures when he was younger.

The series is directed by John Whitesell with a screenplay by Michael Jacobs who also executive produces. Girl Meets World is produced by Seth M. Katz and Zack Lowenstein.

Boy Meets World was a popular sit-com which aired on ABC between 1993 and 2000. Girl Meets World is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2014.
