U.S. Navy Reports Explosion At New Jersey Base, 5 Injured [Update]


ABC reports that authorities are currently responding to a large explosion which shook the U.S Naval Weapons Station Earle in Middletown, New Jersey. The blast occurred early on Tuesday morning.

Naval officers have not confirmed until now what caused the explosion which occurred in one of the base’s waterfront buildings. It is also not known whether or not a terrorist bomb, or other device set of the blast.

No details of injuries have been reported as yet but according to the Navy’s website, the Naval station is located in Colts Neck. Colts Neck is located in the heart of New Jersey’s horse farming region, sitting only 20 minutes away from the New Jersey shore.
