Lee Thompson Young was apparently found dead at his home on Monday. The actor played the main character on Disney’s The Famous Jett Jackson.

Young currently has a central role on the TNT crime show Rizzoli & Isles. But when he didn’t show up for work on Monday morning, staffers for the show called his landlord.

But rather than simply finding the star had overslept, sources told TMZ that Lee Thompson Young’s landlord discovered the actor’s body.

The sources added that Young apparently had a gunshot wound that appeared self-inflicted. Lee was a rising star in Hollywood after his Disney days.

Along with playing The Famous Jett Jackson, Young spent time on shows like Scrubs and FlashForward. He also played in Friday Night Lights and Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story.

But most recently, he played Barry Frost, Jane Rizzoli’s partner on the TNT drama.

The 29-year-old’s passing isn’t the only shocking death of a rising star in Hollywood this year. Glee actor Cory Monteith died suddenly at a hotel room on July 19, 2013. Monteith passed away from a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol.

It is unclear at this time when Young passed away. Despite the reported gunshot wound, there is also no confirmation on whether or not the death was a suicide.
