The Calling Singer Alex Band Abducted, Beaten In Michigan


The Calling lead singer Alex Band was reportedly abducted and beaten over the weekend in Michigan.

According to reports, Band was simply walking down the street at the time the kidnapping took place. Police said he was taking an unscheduled trip to a nearby convenience store at around 4 am Sunday morning when he was abducted by strangers.

During his late-night trip to the corner store, Alex Band was kidnapped by a group of unidentified individuals driving around inside a van. After violently attacking the singer, he was dumped on the side of the road near some train tracks.

It didn’t take too long for members of The Calling to realize that the singer had gone missing. Once they realized Alex Band hadn’t returned, they set out to find him. Police explained that Alex Band was found later that morning.

Although the singer was injured during the abduction, it’s currently unknown what sort of condition he’s in. Outlets such as TMZ have reached out to the band for comment, though no one has officially responded to the matter as of this writing.

Authorities are also remaining tight-lipped about the situation. While they explained that an investigation into the kidnapping and assault is ongoing, police refused to provide any further details into the matter.

If you were a fan of pop-rock music during the early 2000s, then you’re probably very familiar with The Calling’s 2001 hit Wherever You Will Go. Unfortunately, the group decided to call it quits shortly after they had a taste of success.

However, it’s being reported that The Calling recently decided to get back together. They were attending at music festival in Lapeer, Michigan when the abduction and assault took place. It’s unclear if police have any suspects at moment.
