American Idol: Jennifer Lopez To Return For Season 13

Jennifer Lopez will be taking a seat again at the judges panel for season 13 of American Idol.

Lopez was a judge on the show for two seasons in 2011 and 2012 but didn’t return this year. American Idol lost Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj, and Mariah Carey this season and Fox has been working hard to fill those chairs.

According to Us Weekly, they found a big piece of the puzzle today with Jennifer Lopez.

Fox and Lopez haven’t commented on the 13 season of American Idol but E! Online reports that the singer’s boyfriend, Casper Smart, let the news slip during an interview.

A source close to the situation also said that Lopez would be returning to the show.

The source said: “Returning to American Idol makes sense for Jennifer this season… The show’s schedule will allow her to focus on new film and TV projects” at the same time. And, of course, her twins are starting school this year and she will have time for her family.”

Keith Urban will also be returning to the show.

FOX chairman Kevin Reilly said: “I can’t talk too much about it… I will confirm one thing is Keith [Urban] is gonna return to the show… Keith did a great job last year, the fans really liked him. Keith’s a really funny guy…”

Fox is still looking for at least one more judge. They’ll have to find one quick as auditions are already underway for the next season.
