Raz B On Life Support After Bottle Attack [Report]

Former B2K member Raz B is on life support in a hospital in China after being hit in the face with a bottle at a nightclub.

The R&B singer’s publicist, Toy Jones, told TMZ, “He is in a coma and needs as many prayers as possible.”

The 28-year-old was performing at a club in Zhejiang Thursday and was hit in the face with a glass bottle when he tried to break up a fight that had broken out. He was arrested, along with two crowd members, but was released without any charges. He received medical attention after the incident and underwent surgery to repair a gash on his lip, paid for by the alleged bottle thrower.

Raz B, who has been living in China for the past three years, said he didn’t plan on pursuing legal action against the assailant. He also said he planned to move back to the United States before the end of the year to focus on a comeback.

Raz B — whose real name is De’Mario Thompson — didn’t wake up Friday, and his backup dancer rushed him to a nearby hospital. Doctors tested his brain activity, and the results were grim. Sources told TMZ that he is breathing from a ventilator and has been slipping in and out consciousness.

Last year, the singer suffered an accident in Shangai when he tripped and fell through a glass window, slicing the tendons in his wrist. He also lost a considerable amount of blood, and reportedly passed out on impact. He underwent a five-hour operation to save his hand, which was successful.

As a member of B2K, Raz B released four albums, one of which was the soundtrack for You Got Served, which the group also starred in. Around the time the film was released, manager Chris Stokes announced that the group was splitting up, citing internal disagreements.

Raz B released his first solo album, FIRE, in 2007. In 2010, he released a mixtape, Boy 2 King.
