Gia Allemand Dead: Rumors About Bachelor Contestant Rampant In Absence Of Updates
Gia Allemand has been hospitalized with a mysterious condition that has left her in intensive care, but, in the absence of concrete updates from her family or the hospital, rumors have arisen that the former Bachelor contestant has taken a turn for the worse or even died.
The few facts known to this point have come from Gia’s family, who said she was taken to a hospital in New Orleans after suffering what doctors called a “serious emergency medical event.” A representative for Gia said her family and boyfriend Ryan Anderson, a forward for the New Orleans Pelicans, were by her side in the hospital.
“On behalf of the family, we kindly ask for privacy at this time,” the statement said. “Further statements will be released as more information becomes available.”
But new reports have come to fill the void of answers about Gia Allemand’s condition. A friend, Melinda Farina, posted secondhand updates she got from the hospital, saying Gia was struggling to breathe and had a dire outlook.
“@GiaAllemand is on life support w little pulse and barely breathing..cause unknown..next 48 hours critical please pray for Gia everyone”
A report posted Wednesday by the celebrity website Gossiping Pens — and quickly deleted — said that Gia Allemand had died. The site was shared many times on Twitter, but offered no proof of the allegation.
As Allemand’s hospital stay continues, many Bachelor alums have reached out with words of support for Gia and her family.
Ali Fedotowsky, who competed alongside Gia on Season 14, tweeted: “Please keep @GiaAllemand in your thoughts today. She’s in critical condition. That’s all I know. Love you Gia,”
Fedotowsky later added, “Gia was in good spirits & appeared healthy when I saw her last Monday. Will update you when we have more info.”
Though reports that Gia Allemand has died are still circulating on Twitter, official word from the hospital on midday Wednesday said she was listed in critical condition.
