Lollapalooza 2013 kicked off to a muddy and wet start yesterday due to stormy weather. Fans were hit with heavy downpours, mainly in the morning on Friday, but the clouds have now gone and today has seen clear skies and much better weather for the event.
The infamous rap group, Death Grips, decided not to show at this years Chicago event, having cancelled last minute. Their 8:45 p.m. slot was taken instead by rock band Bad Things, from Los Angeles. Death Grips also failed to show up to the after-party at the Bottom Lounge. A Club rep spoke on a video clip taken at the club saying: “Blame Death Grips because they decided not to show up.”
Shelby Meade, a spokeswoman for Lollapalooza, also spoke about Death Grips no-show: “They chose not to arrive in Chicago. Bad Things are stepping up and headlining Grove Stage tonight.”
Despite the weather conditions on the first day, Lollapalooza 2013, has seen some great performances already and today’s event shows equal promise. Among the great bands and performers Saturday will see Mumford & Sons, The Postal Service, The Lumineers and The National.
Even if you don’t happen to be in Chicago this weekend you can still catch all the action on the Lollapalooza 2013 live stream, which you can access for free by clicking here.
