Sandra Bullock Can’t Imagine ‘The Heat’ Sequel

Sandra Bullock has had her share of blockbuster bombs, and most of those films are sequels to her previous hits. First there was Speed 2, which took place on a boat, and then it was Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous. So it’s not a surprise that when the topic of The Heat 2 came up, Bullock wasn’t really up for the idea.

The Heat performed bigger than it was expected, so it makes sense that the production team behind the film would be game for a second go, especially when the plot allows for more hijinks.

That said, Sandra Bullock really can’t see a sequel for the buddy cop film that co-stars Melissa McCarthy. When asked about the possibility of a sequel, Bullock said to Entertainment Weekly: “I know they say never say never, but right now, I can’t imagine it. ”

Bullock continued:

“I don’t want to ruin what Melissa and I had. If a miracle happens where [a script] shows up that really and truly outdid the first and provided an experience that was better than the first one, then I would look at it. But I’m not there.”

In regards to her horrible track record, Bullock is plenty aware, having said:

“If you look back on my illustrious sequel work [laughs] nothing has proven successful. A sequel is such a daunting thing, because you don’t want to lose the magic and the charm of the first one.”

Despite Sandra Bullock’s hesitance about the sequel, writer Katie Dippold is already gearing up for the second chapter for the ladies. According to director Paul Feig the sequel is very much a go, but let’s hope they get Sandra Bullock on board too.

Next up for the Oscar winner is the much talked about Gravity.

Would you be up for a sequel to The Heat? Would you watch the film without Sandra Bullock?
