Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem Welcome Baby Girl

While the world was busy fussing over the new royal baby, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem were quietly welcoming their own child into the world.

According to Hola Magazine, Cruz delivered a daughter in Madrid over the weekend. This is the couple’s second child together.

Bardem and Cruz already have a son, Leonardo, who is 2-years-old. Their new daughter’s name has not been made public yet.

Cruz has not commented on her new daughter yet but this is what she had to say after the birth of her son in 2011: “Being a mother life has changed. It is one of the most powerful experiences of my life… It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever.”

Hola notes that the couple’s first child, Leonardo, was born in Los Angeles but Cruz and Bardem decided that their daughter should be born in Madrid. The couple reportedly plan on raising their kids in Spain to keep them out of the Hollywood spotlight.

Cruz said: “I want my son — and my kids if I have more — to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible. The fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work that we do doesn’t give anybody the right to invade our privacy.”
