Carole Middleton, William’s Mother-in-Law: Role As Babysitter?

Carole Middleton, mother of Kate and, of course, mother-in law to William, may find herself with a new role; babysitter to the future King of England!

Well, this is what the Daily Telegraph is suggesting. It seems that Carole played a very large part in the young couple’s life as they were preparing for the birth. Indeed, in the few days preceding Kate’s entering hospital, she took refuge from the London heatwave – and the world news media gathered outside the Lindo Wing – to go back to her mother and family in rural Bucklebury, in the beautiful county of Berkshire.

There is speculation that William and Kate – or, to give them their formal title, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – will break with royal tradition and not return to any of the royal palaces immediately. Rumor has it that Kate and William want to adopt a more “hands-on” approach to bringing up the future monarch.

And that means taking advantage of the grandparents for babysitting duty. Of course, the baby does have another set of grandparents, and, even, great-grandparents. However, Charles and Camilla have royal duties to perform, and the Queen and Prince Philip even more.

So, it’ll all be down to Carole Middleton to do what most mothers do when faced with a new addition to the family. And that includes babysitting.
