Erinn Bartlett Finally Gives Goldie Hawn A Granddaughter

Erinn Bartlett has done a lot in her 40 years — a host of movie roles, a Miss Massachusetts Teen win, and a marriage to Goldie Hawn’s son Oliver Hudson — but now she can another check to the list: giving Goldie Hawn her first granddaughter.

Bartlett and Hudson welcomed a baby Rio, their first daughter, this week. Goldie Hawn actually announced the arrival of the newborn via tweet on Thursday,

“Welcome Rio! Our first baby girl to join our family!” she tweeted on Thursday, July 18. “@theoliverhudson and Erinn, thank you for bringing so much JOY to our lives! #happiness.”

Erinn brought something else to the family, or at least to Goldie. The famous grandmother already had four grandsons, but Rio was the first granddaughter born in the family.

Though she may be known now as Goldie Hawn’s daughter-in-law, Erinn Bartlett has actually amassed quite a resume. At age 18, she made a run at the Miss Teen USA title, making the top 12 of the nationally televised event but eventually ending in tenth place overall.

Bartlett’s also done quite a bit of acting, including roles in Little Nicky, Shallow Hal, and Raising Helen (which starred her sister-in-law Kate Hudson). Her husband Oliver Hudson also followed in his family business, starring in the CBS series Rules of Engagement.

While Rio is the first daughter for Erinn Bartlett, the couple already has two other boys, 5-year-old Wilder and 3-year-old Bodhi.

The couple seemed destined for parenthood. Not long after getting engaged in 2004, Oliver talked about how much he was looking forward to having kids.

“I want babies,” Oliver Hudson told People magazine after his engagement. “I think I’ll be a great dad.”

After their first son was born in 2007, Oliver said watching the baby be born was unlike anything he’d ever witnessed.

“It was crazy, the most insane, intense experience of my life. I went through every range of emotions…the fear and love, it was all coming down on me at once. It was intense.”

Now Oliver Hudson and Erinn Bartlett get to do it all over again, only this time with a girl.
