Anna Chlumsky Is A Mom: ‘My Girl’ Star Names New Daughter Penelope

My Girl star Anna Chlumsky has a little girl of her own. The Emmy nominated actress recently gave birth to a baby girl whom the actress has named Penelope.

Chlumsky, who is best known for her childhood role in the movie My Girl, has certainly had a big week. In addition to giving birth to her new baby with husband Shaun So, the actress also earned an Emmy Nomination for her work on the HBO show Veep.

Chlumsky said that she got the Emmy news as soon as it was announced because she was up late feeding her daughter.

The actress told LA Times: “I was up because I was feeding my daughter, Penelope, who is a week old. My husband and I were hanging in the nursery…. My manager let me know, and he was so excited that I reacted more to his excitement. It just came out as uncontrollable laughter.”

The actress is pretty excited about her Emmy nomination but she’s definitely has her priorities in check.

Chlumsky said: “I’m so glad that she was born first, because I feel very grounded about it. I’m so terribly grateful and appreciative to be noticed for my work, which I think is what this is all about. Your community noticing what it is you do. Having her, and knowing that I’ve got to feed her when she wakes up again — it definitely keeps you on the ground a little bit. My priorities are in check.”

So did little Penelope get her mother’s good looks? Chlumsky said that her new daughter is the “perfect mix” between herself and her husband Shaun.

Chlumsky said: “She’s a really good mix between my husband and me… When she’s with him, you see him, and when she’s with me, you see me. She’s a perfect mix.”
